Blues Rock, Soul, and a Powerful Voice
A charismatic vocalist, a new lineup, and a musical journey through the world of the blues.
He is well known far beyond the blues scene for his unmistakable voice and commanding stage presence. As a vocalist, John Henry looks back on decades of musical development that have taken him through numerous projects and a wide variety of musical styles.
His musical journey began at an unusually early age. He had his first stage experiences at just six years old. At 16, he took the next major step: forming his first band. Vocals were at the heart of his musical identity from the very beginning. He later continued his vocal training at the Vocal Academy KTVA, laying an important foundation for his career, which has most recently attracted international attention.
Since then, he has been involved in a wide range of musical projects—from blues and rock to other genres. By now, he can look back on his involvement in more than a dozen different projects. His musical career also includes a multinational music project in 2014, as well as various radio activities. His stylistic versatility has made him a sought-after vocalist for a wide range of lineups and musical concepts.
“From tender to hard-hitting.”
What truly sets him apart, however, is not just his voice. His stage presence and charisma are equally distinctive and have been described as exceptional by both fellow musicians and audiences alike.
True to his own musical philosophy, he loves it “from tender to hard-hitting.” That broad range is also reflected in his current project: the John Henry Band.
The Band
For his latest band, he has once again brought together four exceptional musicians. Among them is the Italian-American drummer Tony Liotta, an outstanding musician whose talent and decades of experience play an important role in shaping the band’s new sound.
Together, the John Henry Band presents its current program, “Bluesrock Soul – A Tribute to the Blues.” This is not simply a journey into the past, but a passionate exploration of the music that has influenced generations. Blues, rock, and soul come together in a program that honors the roots of the blues while giving the musicians plenty of room to bring their own individual character and style to the music.
With his many years of experience, distinctive voice, and unmistakable stage presence, John Henry stands at the center of a lineup that brings musical tradition and the present day together.
